Early whistleblower on origin of COVID-19 virus was silenced by Twitter Nine Line News Team April 17, 2020 Articles, In The Press, Nine Line News, Relentlessly Patriotic 159 The theory that China was not exactly telling the truth when it promised the world the “novel coronavirus” had spread from a bat to some poor schlub in a “wet market” in Wuhan is now being openly discussed. CNN, Fox News, The Washington Post and Yahoo News are all now reporting the U.S. government is investigating the possibility that the virus actually originated from a Chinese lab. This is not a new idea. As early as January, this idea was being floated, although at the time it was viewed as a crackpot, tinfoil hat theory. Which had to be silenced. A libertarian financial blog called Zero Hedge posted a story on January 29 wondering whether the virus was “released by Wuhan’s Institute of Virology (accidentally or not), a top, level-4 biohazard lab which was studying “the world’s most dangerous pathogens.” The article noted the Wuhan Institute of Virology had posted a “help wanted” notice in November 2019 “seeking to hire one or two post-doc fellows, who will use “bats to research the molecular mechanism that allows Ebola and SARS-associated coronaviruses to lie dormant for a long time without causing diseases.” The job was posted for the lab of Dr. Peng Zhou, Ph.D., a researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and Leader of the Bat Virus Infection and Immunization Group. Two days later on January 31st, the Zero Hedge feed was suspended by Twitter and has yet to be reinstated. Zero Hedge, January 2020: Coronavirus originated from a top, level-4 biohazard lab in Wuhan. Next day: Permanently suspended from Twitter. Washington Post, April 2020 (3 months later): So yeah…it looks like coronavirus came from a bioresearch safety level-4 lab in Wuhan. — James Todaro, MD (@JamesTodaroMD) April 16, 2020 The highly credible BuzzFeed News (#eyeroll) speculated Zero Hedge was only suspended because it had included the doctor’s email address and phone number (which had been posted in the job listing). But consider other information that has magically disappeared from the Interweb about the virus. Yahoo reports, Chinese researchers initially speculated about the possibility of a lab accident in a preliminary paper posted in February on ResearchGate, a social networking site for scientists. “The killer coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory in Wuhan,” wrote researchers — although they also raised the possibility of natural transmission. “Safety level may need to be reinforced in high-risk biohazardous laboratories,” continued Botao Xiao and Lei Xiao of Guangxhou’s South China University of Technology. Botao Xiao later withdrew the paper, telling the Wall Street Journal he did not have evidence for his theories. Two Chinese universities recently posted online notices placing restrictions on publishing academic research on the origins of the coronavirus, though those have since been removed from the internet. Retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Robert Spalding, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and a former National Security Council official who worked on China issues in the Trump administration, told Yahoo News he believes a lab accident is a “definite possibility.” In an email to Yahoo News he wrote, if the Wuhan National Biosafety Lab scientists were dabbling in potentially dangerous research, “Beijing would not want to call attention to [it],” he concluded. Ya THINK? Don’t forget…the Chinese government was very quick to deny any involvement in the virus and instead focus on Wuhan’s “wet” markets, Which by the way, are now once again open for business. While the government there has banned the sale of live wild animals and poultry, you can still get live crayfish and lots of other goodies at outdoor stalls. Fox News reports “there is increasing confidence” that COVID-19 originated the a Wuhan lab — not as a bioweapon, per se, but to show the world China is just as good as the US in identifying and combatting viruses. And then of course it all went horribly wrong when somehow the virus escaped and spread. We may never exactly know the truth, but isn’t it disturbing to know the truth was being suppressed?
