Savannah group calling on residents to help LA flood victims admin August 23, 2016 Nine Line News Savannah, Ga — A local effort is underway to help those affected by the recent floods in Louisiana. With the devastation being called the “thousand-year storm,” nearly 100,000 Louisiana residents are displaced. Advertisement And Savannah has stepped up to help or Southern Neighbors in Need. The people behind this effort are asking the community to drop their donations at the following locations (listed below) this week during business hours, so they can be loaded onto an 18-wheeler on Saturday and delivered to Louisiana. We will be at Nine Line Apparel on Friday, August 26th from 9am-7pm as a last chance for everyone to drop off donations. All items will be delivered to a verified point of contact in Baton Rouge, La. Needed items include cleaning items, clothing, baby items, pet food, hand trucks, wheelbarrows, nonperishable food, toiletries, linens, and monetary donations to assist with rebuilding.
